Former racing driver and motorsport content creator, Scott Mansell, will be taking to the track in the Lola T001 for next week’s Evo Sessions in Miami.

As the founder of Driver61, Scott creates content which aims to educate and entertain, showcasing the innovative technology throughout the motorsport industry and preparing students for a career in motorsport. The content draws on Scott’s vast experience competing in motorsport series such as Indy Lights and European F3000, in addition to his role as a driver coach to hundreds of racing and track-day drivers across 22 countries.

Scott will be putting his knowledge and experience to the test in the Formula E Evo Sessions, taking place at the Miami International Autodrome on March 5th and 6th. Along with 10 other personalities from the worlds of sport, tech and entertainment, he will get behind the wheel of the GEN3 Evo, capable of 0-100 kph in just 1.86s.

In preparation Scott has spent time in the simulator familiarising himself with the track and the ground-breaking technology of the Formula E race car and will also receive guidance on the particularities of electric racing from Lola Yamaha ABT driver, Zane Maloney.

Scott Mansell said:
“I’m very excited to be part of the Formula E Evo Sessions with Lola Yamaha ABT. Lola is a brand that has a special place in my heart, having driven fantastic cars such as the T70 and T210 in the past. The Lola T001 currently competing in the GEN3 Evo era of Formula E is the equivalent high-tech car of this period and I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with the team to extract the most performance from the car as I can in Miami.

“I’m also lucky enough to have driven the GEN3 Beta car at last year’s Diriyah E-Prix and am thrilled to have the opportunity to spend more time experiencing the innovative technology used in Formula E.”

Mark Preston, Motorsport Director, Lola Cars:
“We are very excited to welcome Scott to the Lola Yamaha ABT team. The combination of his experience, passion and technical interest fits perfectly with our rich heritage and commitment to driving innovation through motorsport. We look forward to seeing what he can do behind the wheel of the Lola T001 when he hits the track in Miami.”
