This weekend, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to Miami for the first time since Season 1, marking Lola Yamaha ABT’s first race in the US.
The series is going to a new venue in the Sunshine State – Miami Homestead Speedway. The permanent 3.55km track features 15-turns with a high-speed section and intricate infield elements, sure to provide electrifying wheel-to-wheel racing.
Lola Yamaha ABT is looking to continue to improve on track, having used the two-month race gap to further test and develop its T001 racer alongside technical partners Yamaha Motor, who have recently announced the continuation of their partnership for GEN4 of the all-electric racing series.
Lucas di Grassi, #11
"I’m looking forward to racing in Miami for the first time since Season One. The amount the cars have improved in terms of speed, efficiency and performance since then is a real testament to the technical development within the sport. We’re hoping to really showcase this pinnacle of all-electric racing technology on track and hopefully see improvements from Jeddah.”
Zane Maloney, #22
“Over the two-month race gap since Jeddah, we’ve been doing a lot of testing as a team, both on track and in the simulator. We hope that this development, combined with the unpredictability of a new venue for all the teams, means we will see improvements in our on-track performance.”
Mark Preston, Motorsport Director, Lola Cars
“Lola Cars has a rich history of racing in the US and we are looking forward to competing here in Formula E for the first time and hopefully building on that legacy of success. As a new manufacturer, having this two-month gap in the middle of the season has been very beneficial to give us the time to further test and develop.”
Thomas Biermaier, CEO, ABT
"It’s great to once again be racing in the Sunshine State. We are looking forward to taking to the track in Miami and hopefully seeing further improvements following the hard work the team has put in over the past two months.”
The race takes place at 14:05 local time (19:05 GMT) on Saturday 12th April. Find out how to watch where you are here.
