Key points

• The team will be aiming to score more points in the Jakarta E-Prix following its points finish and best qualifying to date last time out in Shanghai
• Heat management for tyres, the battery and team personnel will be key as Lola Yamaha ABT aims to score more points in its first Indonesian race

For the final single-header of Season 11, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is returning to the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit, in the Ancol area of the Indonesian capital.

The 2.37km track features 18 turns and was inspired by the 'Kuda Lumping' -a flat horse woven from bamboo and decorated with colourfully painted cloth, which is “ridden” as part of a traditional Javanese dance.

In addition to tackling the twists and turns of the circuit, the drivers will be battling the hot and humid conditions, while navigating the strategic and performance challenges which could be caused by these conditions.

Lucas di Grassi, #11
“I’m excited to be racing in Indonesia again, the fans are very supportive and love motorsport, so there’s always a great atmosphere. We are coming off the back of points finishes in both Tokyo and Shanghai and are going to try and do the same here. Like all the teams, we will have to overcome a number of challenges, mainly related to heat and the impact of it on the tyres, battery and us as drivers – we will potentially lose up to 3kg of sweat during the race. So it will be very interesting with a strategic focus on when to use attack mode and balancing performance to ensure we don’t overheat the battery.”

Zane Maloney, #22
“It’s my first time in Indonesia and I’m looking forward to racing here in front of the very passionate fans. The heat and humidity in Jakarta is of course a real challenge but we’ve been spending a lot of time in the simulator running different scenarios to ensure we are prepared to deal with the complications the conditions could throw at us. Hopefully I can score my first points for the team here.”

Mark Preston, Motorsport Director, Lola Cars
“We’ve learnt a lot through the Asian leg of the season so far and it’s yielded positive development and results for the team. The hot and humid weather in Jakarta brings a number of challenges in particular around managing the temperature of the battery in addition to the impact on the drivers and other team members, however, this can also bring an element of unpredictability to the race which could work in our favour.”

Thomas Biermaier, CEO, ABT
“Coming into Jakarta off the back of our best qualifying as a team in Shanghai (P4 for Lucas) and having added more points as a team, we are feeling confident that we are making the right steps to continue to improve and develop. We are hoping to see more positive results here in the Indonesian capital."

Heading into the race in Jakarta, the Lola Yamaha ABT team is eleventh in the Teams’ standings with 30 points.
